Kara is a social worker practicing Neurofeedback, Biofeedback and incorporating integrative mental health into her holistic therapeutic practice in Steamboat Springs and virtually within the state of Colorado.  She grew up in Colorado and loves all it has to offer.

She attended Texas Christian University graduating with honors after earning a Bachelor’s of Science in social work with a minor in psychology.

Kara knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a social worker and went directly from her undergraduate studies to earning her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Denver.  After graduation, Kara worked as a social worker in a historically underserved school and lead their pregnant and parenting students program.  She also served as a therapist at a school for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as behavioral challenges.

During her career, Kara has worked closely with psychiatrists, teachers and teams to best meet her clients’ individual needs in a private therapeutic setting as well as in residential care.   Providing Neurofeedback and Biofeedback became a passion of Kara’s after her own personal recovery from a moderate traumatic brain injury decades ago.  As a result, Kara wanted to provide Neurofeedback and Biofeedback to a wide age range of people in her community and is delighted to see the clear change it creates for her clients.

She believes that every human has worth and should be treated with dignity. She treats her. clients like family and will work diligently to help you achieve your goals or find the root of you or your family member’s struggles.

She continues to value collaborating with a team of experts to support her clients.  Across the country, Kara works intimately with Pamela Blodgett BCN, Alex Sanchez, BCN, BCB, and Dr. Ron Swatzyna – all who have numerous years of experience in mental health and neurofeedback.  She also teams up with Steamboat local Dr. Nicole McGuffin and practices in a similar fashion.

Kara, her family and dogs enjoy living in Steamboat and everything it has to offer. When she is not in the office you will find her hiking with her dogs, biking on Emerald, making turns on the mountain, listening to live music, taking the long way home and soaking up everything our wonderful town has to offer.
